Het is een rondwandeling die begint op een pad van lapilli (kleine stenen van vulkanische oorsprong), geflankeerd door endemische plantensoorten, zoals de Laurier (<em>Laurus azorica<\/em>), de Azorenheide (<em>Erica azorica<\/em>), de Aardbeuk (<em>Morella faya<\/em>) en de Ceder (<em>Juniperus brevifolia<\/em>), die door stenige bodems en waterlopen loopt, geflankeerd door Cryptomeria-bomen. Het beboste gebied eindigt op een open plek vanwaar u de krater van Pico Alto kunt aanschouwen. Verder langs de kliffen bereikt u het hoogste punt van Rocha do Chambre &#8211; Juncal (704m). Dit gebied, dat rijk is aan endemische vegetatie, is ook bekend om zijn trachietkoepels, die behoren tot het beschermde gebied van Biscoito da Ferraria en Pico Alto.
